The Grimsey Family

 Help with family history needed.

John Grimsey is trying to find information about his father, John Rust Grimsey, and Alfred Castell Deck, a cousin of his father. Alfred Castell Deck's address was the Sailihat Post office, Jalpaiguri. The 1930 Tea Garden Directory this suggests the Baintbarrie garden, which was run by the Nedeem Tea Co. His WW2 and transit records also listed Octavius steel- coincidentally associated with Alfred Deck’s garden. His father arrived in India in 1925 and was enlisted in the Indian army full time in 1941, being discharged in 1945. He was also associated with the north Bengal mounted rifles before he enlisted in the unattached list for the Indian army.

If you think you can help and have any information, perhaps with links to Jalpaiguri and the Nedeem Tea Company, then please contact John at [email protected].
